Testing Process

The end-to-end testing process follows:

Defect Management: Track and resolve defects through a predefined defect lifecycle workflow until all are closed or meet production release criteria.

Test Analysis: Evaluate the testing process through defect trend analysis, defect metrics, test case effectiveness, productivity assessment, and overall quality evaluation.

Test Case Design

The testing process includes:

Requirements Modeling: Define inputs, outputs, data constraints, and business workflows for each transaction.

Requirements Analysis: Analyze functional components and their associated usage scenarios based on requirement specifications.

Script Design (for automated testing): Define input/output constraints for each transaction and map them as script parameters.

Scenario Design: Create diverse test scenarios based on the requirements model.

Constraint Design: Define business-relevant field values; implement business rules via data definitions with support for rule reuse; configure combinations of test design elements.

Generate Test Cases: Finalize test cases based on prior stages and import them into the test management system.

Design differentiated test data based on input fields associated with business transactions.

Test data can be categorized as valid values, boundary values, and invalid inputs—enabling automatic generation of corresponding test case types during creation.

Test Requirement Import and Analysis

Import requirements into the system in hierarchical tree or flat list format:

Import via Excel or Word to convert unstructured documents into structured, traceable requirement items.

Track the status of each individual requirement.

Link relevant test cases to each requirement for coverage tracking.

Associate discovered defects with specific requirements for impact analysis.

Set review and approval status for each requirement.
